Chapter 28: Yuanshi Tianzun’s Contempt for the Yao Clan – “A Bunch of Furred and Horned Beasts!”
As Changxi, Empress of the Heavenly Court, observed the events unfolding in the Human Clan’s domain, anxiety gripped her heart. Her son, Xia Tian, stood firm against the Yao Clan’s plan to slaughter the humans to forge the Slaughter Wu Sword, a weapon designed to counter the Wu Clan.
The Yao Clan’s history with the Wu Clan was steeped in blood and vengeance. Millions of years ago, the Wu Clan had invaded the Yao Clan’s Heavenly Court, nearly wiping them out. Their enmity was irreconcilable, and the discovery of human souls’ ability to suppress the Wu Clan made the Human Clan an inevitable target.
Changxi’s worry was twofold. She feared for Xia Tian’s safety, knowing the precarious position he had placed himself in by opposing such a pivotal Yao Clan strategy. She also understood that Xia Tian’s actions could antagonise figures like Donghuang Taiyi and Yao Saint Baize, who might consider him a traitor.
Still, she believed that Taiyi and Baize would not resort to killing Xia Tian. As Emperor Jun’s bloodline and Taiyi’s nephew, Xia Tian’s life was likely secure, though she expected Taiyi to subdue and return him to the Heavenly Court.

Far away, on the Western Spirit Mountain, the Sages Zhunti and Jieyin observed the confrontation with furrowed brows. They were not pleased with Xia Tian’s interference.
“Humanity’s tribulations are necessary,” Zhunti said, shaking his head. “They must endure trials and suffering to earn their destiny as the future rulers of the cosmos.”
The Sages had a vested interest in allowing the Yao Clan to attack the humans. Such an act would weaken the Yao Clan’s fortune while consolidating humanity’s eventual rise. However, Zhunti and Jieyin chose to watch for now, knowing that interfering too soon could disrupt the natural flow of the Dao.

On Kunlun Mountain, the seat of his Jade Purity Heaven, Yuanshi Tianzun had also sensed the disturbance caused by the clash. Opening his eyes, he gazed upon the Yao Clan forces assembled above the Human Clan’s lands and sneered.
[Kunlun Mountain (昆仑山) is a legendary mountain in Chinese mythology and Daoist cosmology, often considered the “Axis Mundi” or the world’s spiritual and physical center. It serves as a bridge between Heaven and Earth, a dwelling place of deities, and a source of divine energy.]
[Yuanshi Tianzun (元始天尊, Yuánshǐ Tiānzūn): One of the Three Pure Ones, embodying the Jade Purity and representing the Dao of Creation. Known for his arrogance and detachment.]
“A group of furred and horned beasts thinks itself worthy of ruling the Primordial World?” Yuanshi Tianzun’s voice dripped with scorn. To him, the Yao Clan’s ambitions were laughable.
Yuanshi Tianzun’s disdain extended to Donghuang Taiyi, Yao Saint Baize, and even the Heavenly Court itself. Despite the Yao Clan’s significant power, Yuanshi regarded them as lesser beings, incapable of true mastery over the cosmos.

Yuanshi’s condescension mirrored the attitudes of other Sages. The Lord of Humanity, Laozi, glanced briefly at the Human Clan before losing interest. Even Nuwa, creator of humanity, showed little concern, observing the events with detached curiosity. To the Sages, Xia Tian’s actions and the Yao Clan’s plans were trivial in the grand scheme of the Dao.

In the Human Clan’s territory, Xia Tian stood unwavering in front of the Yao forces. His Golden Crow form radiated immense energy as he faced Donghuang Taiyi and Baize, declaring his allegiance to humanity.
“Uncle, I am the Holy Master of the Human Clan,” Xia Tian began, his tone resolute. “The humans are a part of the Yao system, created by Lady Nuwa herself. They are our brothers and sisters. I implore you to reconsider.”
His words, though earnest, were met with disdain by the Yao deities. Many among them questioned Xia Tian’s loyalty, deeming his actions unfit for a Yao Crown Prince. Even Donghuang Taiyi’s face darkened, his patience nearing its limit.
“Enough, Tian’er. You are too reckless!” Donghuang Taiyi snapped, his tone icy. “This matter concerns the survival of the Yao Clan. It is not for you to interfere.”
Taiyi raised his hand, prepared to subdue Xia Tian and return him to the Heavenly Court. But Xia Tian was ready. He unleashed his full power, summoning the Hetu and Luoshu, their majestic aura enveloping the battlefield.
“Uncle!” Xia Tian’s voice thundered across the sky. “The Slaughter Wu Sword may harm the Great Witches, but it cannot touch the Twelve Ancestral Witches. The humans are far more significant than you realise. Please reconsider your actions!”

The confrontation left the Yao Clan leaders visibly conflicted. Xia Tian’s words carried weight, but his opposition to such a crucial Yao strategy made him a divisive figure. The deities behind Taiyi and Baize exchanged uneasy glances, their discontent with Xia Tian growing.
Taiyi hesitated, his raised hand trembling as he weighed the consequences of his next move. Subduing Xia Tian was one thing, but doing so in front of the Human Clan and other observers risked further fracturing the Yao Clan.
